Blayne Weaver’s romantic comedy Weather Girl will have its Los Angeles premiere on Friday, June 19th as an official selection at Film Independent’s 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival. The film, which had its world premiere at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, UT earlier this year, revolves around a Seattle morning show weather girl (Tricia O’Kelley, “The New Adventures of Old Christine”) whose private romance with her TV co-host (Mark Harmon, “NCIS”) goes awry on live television, forcing her into a loveless state of unemployment. Weather Girl’s supporting cast includes Jon Cryer (“Two and a Half Men”), Ryan Devlin, Jane Lynch (“Glee”), Kaitlin Olson (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) and Patrick J. Adams.
Following its LAFF screenings, Weather Girl will be distributed theatrically in the U.S. by Secret Identity Productions, beginning July 10, 2009 at the Laemmle Sunset 5 in Los Angeles. Regent Worldwide Sales acquired the international rights to the film following its strong reception at Slamdance. Screen Media Films is handling the DVD and Digital distribution of the film, which will premiere on Lifetime television in October 2009.
Weather Girl is written and directed by Blayne Weaver. It is produced by Secret Identity Productions, in association with Steakhaus Productions, T&A Pictures and H2R Productions. Producers are Tricia O’Kelley and Steak House. Executive producer is Brandon Barrera and co-producers are Dominic Ottersbach, Adam Rosenblatt, and Lauren Bass.
